The camping essentials

Camping is a fun-filled activity, isn’t it? Well, of course it is. Those who embark on camping trips regularly would understand the joys and thrills of camping in the wild.  It is something that brings the best out of adventure lovers.

Now, camping adventures often come along with disclaimers. Experienced campers will tell you to never go unprepared into the woods. There are a few things that need to be kept in mind before you go out to hit the woods.

You need to have the essentials of camping. Going unprepared can end up complicating matters.

Here is the list of essentials

A tent:

Next, comes the sleeping bag. Again, you need to have a couple of sleeping bags at your disposal. You will not be caught off-guard in case the first one gets damaged. Go for a slightly bigger sleeping bag as it will provide you with ample space to stretch your legs. Also, don’t forget to carry a pillow along, otherwise you’ll have a stony night.

The first and foremost thing that needs to be carried in the woods is a tent. Carry a big tent as it would be able to accommodate all of your belongings. Also, a tent needs to be tough and long lasting. Make sure the tent being chosen by you is waterproof as it rains quite frequently in forest areas. It is always a good idea to carry a spare tent. In this way, you won’t be caught off-guard in case the first one gets damaged accidentally.

Sleeping bag with pillow:

A survival knife: This is the most import part of your survival kit. A camper’s survival kit is very much incomplete without a big and bold Bowie knife. Survival knives can also double up as hunting knives. If you want hunting knives in the UK, then get in touch with some reliable knife vendors. A sturdy hunting knife is a handy tool that can be used to undertake a lot of tasks, right from hunting to cooking and pretty much everything in between.

A flashlight with batteries

These need to be kept in order to avoid trouble during night time. These will go a long way in making your life easier for you. Make sure the light you are carrying has a good enough battery life. It will come in handy while finding your way through treacherous woods. Don’t forget to carry a considerable number of batteries along.

Some other things you need to carry:

  • A cell phone
  • A compass
  • Clean drinking water
  • A first-aid kit
  • A lighter
  • A gun (you never know)
  • Carry some emergency food supplies

Note everything down and crosscheck it after the packing has been done. Also, if you are going to hit the woods for the first time, then take someone along. Camping is indeed a fun exercise but only if you have prepared yourself well.
